Blended and Customized Learning Programs

ISM offers two types of blended learning programs:

  • Custom Blended Learning programs
  • Standard, Off-the-Shelf Blended Learning programs

Custom blended learning programs combine a myriad of delivery methods to suit the unique needs of your organization. The strategic advantage of customized blended learning program is that the content and delivery methods are tailored to your organization, people and culture. Blended learning programs can be offered in various languages and customized for fee.

Standard ISM blended learning programs combine the best of a variety of delivery methods. Each program is available to an audience of up to 35 people. ISM standard program include face-to-face, Web-based self-paced, live conference calls and reading assignments in each program. However, you can elect to change the mix of delivery methods used. An assessment is also included at the completion of each blended learning program.

Presently, there are 3 standard ISM blended learning programs available:

  1. Step-By-Step Strategy for Successful Negotiations
  2. Leveraging Your Services Spend
  3. U.S. Focused Contracts and Legal Considerations

1. Step-By-Step Strategy for Successful Negotiations (U.S.- and European-Based Instructors)

This track builds skills and knowledge on how to:

  • Prepare for a negotiation.
  • Determine your most effective style.
  • Use various tools to improve your result.
  • Use ethical tactics while fending off unethical ones.
  • Deal with the necessary steps after the negotiation session is over.
  • Manage challenging situations and intractable people.
  • Understand cultural differences that come into play.

This 15-week curriculum includes two one-day, instructor-led sessions focused on in-depth discussion of selected materials and role simulations that employ key lessons learned during the course, six virtual conferences focused on specific areas, Knowledge Center online self-study courses, reading materials and a knowledge exam.

2. Leveraging Your Services Spend (U.S.- and European-Based Instructors)

This track builds skills and knowledge on how to:

  • Apply strategy formulation principles and processes to your own service buys to identify opportunities and determine the best approach.
  • Work well with stakeholders to build an optimum Statement of Work and to gain consensus on your approach.
  • Use specific tools and techniques to identify and implement leveraging opportunities.
  • Manage suppliers for continuous improvement.

This nine-week curriculum includes a day-long, instructor-led session focused on in-depth discussion of selected materials and role simulations that employ key lessons learned during the course, five virtual conferences focused on specific areas, one Knowledge Center online self-study course and a knowledge exam.

3. U.S.-Focused Contracts and Legal Considerations (facilitated by a U.S. Attorney)

This track builds skills and knowledge on how to:

  • Understand how contracts should be put together and how contracts flow.
  • Analyze various types of contracts and select the appropriate contract type for a purchase.
  • Draft situation-specific contracts.
  • Change and broaden a contract for different situations.
  • Understand, analyze and construct agreements for complex buys.
  • Employ methods to protect intellectual property.
  • Protect your organization from common contract pitfalls.
  • Identify international concerns and incorporate appropriate clauses.

This 17-week curriculum includes three one-day, instructor-led sessions focused on in-depth discussion of selected materials, five virtual conferences focused on specific areas, online self-study courses, reading materials and a knowledge exam. Prices vary depending on delivery methods used.
