Association Management Forum

New Orleans! Supply Management and all that JAZZ. See you there!

We're so pleased to present a new and dynamic speaker this year with the appearance of Bernadette "Bernie" Young from the Center for Creative Teambuilding. NAPM—Carolinas-Virginia members recently got the opportunity to meet Young at our Winter Conference in December. She was terrific!

Young will be presenting "Go for the Gusto: Recognizing Your Volunteer Leadership" on Tuesday, May 2, at 2:20 p.m. (Code ED). This highly interactive session defines, clarifies, and reinforces the role of Volunteer L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. This program serves as a catalyst to focus and channel your creative effort toward improving your volunteer activity.

We're also glad to welcome back the popular Preston J. Leavitt, Ph.D., JD, C.P.M., who will be presenting "Making Time and Getting Things Done" at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2 (Code DD). Leavitt notes that, "No one has enough time, yet everyone has all there is. Our time is our life. What we do with our time determines what we do with our life." This program trains you to decide what's important and how to arrange priorities accordingly. Don't we all need a "refresher" course on time management?

Another program the Association Management Forum (AMF) is presenting to the Regional Summer Leadership Workshop Committees is a Grant Assistance Program for the summer regional leadership workshops.

AMF has developed a Speaker Grant Program that will be available for the summer of 2000. Quite simply, AMF will grant up to $2,500 per region for speakers' fees and expenses. The Regional Speaker Committee will need to complete the grant application to receive these funds. Information is available from NAPM Groups & Forums Support Staff member Ginger Baker at 800/888-6276 or 480/752-6276, extension 3032.
