Twenty-Five Years

Paul Novak, C.P.M., A.P.P.

As the final summer of the century comes to a close, I can't help but reflect back upon the exciting events our association has embarked upon so far this year. From the Governance Study to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) program, NAPM, with your help, continues to make great strides to advance the supply management profession around the world.

The association is poised to take full advantage of the opportunities that await us in the new millennium. Perhaps one of the most significant changes in store for the association with the turn of the century is the update to the Certification Program.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the C.P.M. program. The program has brought value, confidence, power, and job opportunities to C.P.M.s over the years. In this issue of Professionally Speaking I am going to share with you how we are celebrating the success by making a commitment to raise the level of the purchasing and supply management function through certification.
