Trends: Purchasing and the Environment Members Only Content

This month, Purchasing Today® focuses on remanufacturing. Remanufacturing, an industry that has been around for more than 50 years, is sweeping corporate America with a renewed sense of purpose. From Kodak to Steelcase, companies of all industries and technologies are turning to remanufacturing as a way to hold down costs, and keep products out of landfills. Organizations are also designing new products with remanufacturing in mind. This can increase the price of the product as oftentimes the parts may be more expensive, however, the organizations feel it's worth the added cost since it adds a re-use option to the product as opposed to sending it to a landfill.
