Overview

Are you interested in teaching CPSM® and CSM™ preparation and review courses? ISM has developed CPSM® and CSM™ training materials ("courseware") for you to use in designing and teaching CPSM® and CSM™ review courses. The courseware is aligned with the CPSM® and CSM™ Exam Specification and CPSM® and CSM™ Study Guide. It includes teaching preparation and materials you can copy and use when developing and delivering CPSM® and CSM™ review programs. This two-day program reviews CPSM® and CSM™ Exam development, the CPSM® and CSM™ programs, and test taking hints and tips. The course also highlights the CPSM® and CSM™ Courseware materials and how to use them to develop your own review courses. ISM has developed Courseware materials for both the full and the bridge exams. Courseware materials include:

  • An Instructor Guide including an outline of the CPSM® and CSM™ Exam Specification with suggested introductions, transitions and timing for each section of the course and questions and/or case studies (with answers, answer rationale and teaching notes) for each task in the Exam Spec;
  • Participant Guide you can copy as is, or modify, and provide to all attendees at your programs;
  • PowerPoint slides that you can modify or use as is to present CPSM® and CSM™ review courses. The PowerPoint slides include slides showing the task number and task outline, sample and discussion questions and a summary slide for every task in the Exam Specification. The slides match the flow of material in the Instructor and Participant Guides. The number of slides per task has been kept to a minimum. Instructors may choose to add as much content and as many slides as they may require.

This CPSM® and CSM™ Train the Trainer course focuses on providing hands-on experience with the Courseware and exploring ways that it can be tailored to your own use. It assumes that participants have sufficient supply management knowledge to be able to teach review courses. Neither this course nor the Courseware is designed to teach instructors the supply management body of knowledge.

Participants are required to bring a laptop with CD drive as well as the CPSM® and the CSM™ Study Guide (or CPSM® Study Guide) to the class.

As a bonus, those who complete the full two-day program are listed as CPSM® and CSM™ review course providers on ISM's Web site and will have access to digital copies of all Courseware materials (including future updates).

  1. Instructor Guide with teaching notes about each task in the CPSM® and CSM™ Exam Specification
  2. For each:
    1. Sample questions formatted similar to exam questions, answers, answer rationale and teaching notes
    2. Case studies, with questions to pose to your class, answers to questions with rationale for each, and teaching notes
  3. Participant Guide to be used (as is or modified) for those attending the courses you instruct
  4. PowerPoint slides to be used as is or modified
  5. Access to digital copies of all Courseware materials
  6. Permission to customize the course materials and to use the CPSM® and CSM™ logos
  7. Permission to copy as many Participant Guides as you need when teaching the program
