| R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students |

Available for full time students in an accredited supply management, procurement or supply chain management program for the 2006-07 academic year.
The R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation will provide a $5,000 scholarship to individuals seeking education in the area of supply chain management or procurement for the 2006-07 academic year. An eligible student will be entering their senior year and be enrolled full time in an accredited supply chain management program with the intention of specializing in the procurement profession. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated leadership ability, high ethical standards, and potential to become a future leader in the procurement field. Application deadline is February 17, 2006.

Today's ISM Term of the Day is: FUNCTIONAL AUDIT.
Definition: A comprehensive, systematic, independent, and periodic examination of an organization's purchasing environment, objectives, strategies, and activities with a view toward identifying strengths and weaknesses, including a plan of action to improve purchasing performance.
A different Term of the Day is posted on the ISM Home Page (www.ism.ws) each day -- 7 days a week. The Term of the Day is taken from the Glossary of Key Purchasing and Supply Terms.
ISM members can access the online Members Only Glossary of Key Purchasing and Supply Terms which includes terms from the private, public, and various industry sectors, and from a wide variety of sources. The Glossary can be browsed alphabetically, or searched by keyword.
