Roadmap to Certification
- Take the CPSM Diagnostic Practice Exam practice test to find your weak areas (if you are pursuing your CPSD certification, this practice exam will also prepare you for the CPSD Exam 1 — Foundation of Supply Management). It is available in either print or online version to meet your preferred learning style. Score your practice test(s) and match the results to the bibliographic references to find detailed explanations within the other study items listed below.
- Use your score report from the Diagnostic Practice Exam to develop a study plan to target areas you need to strengthen. Use the CPSM Study Guide, the ISM Professional Series and additional resources to fill in knowledge gaps and prepare for your CPSM exams.
- Use the CPSM Study Guide to get familiar with the exam specifications and see examples of the testing format and styles of questions. It briefly explains the content tested in the exams within the context of each task category. Those studying for the Bridge Exam only need to study the bracketed content.
- The ISM Professional Series offers more detailed explanations of the exam task areas that were weak in your score report. These three hardcover books are similar to graduate-level textbooks, with one volume for each of the three exams.
- If needed, take another Diagnostic Practice Exam to make sure you understand the concepts and improve your scores in weaker areas. Start the process over for your next exam.
- Still need more? Take a CPSM Review Course. For CPSD certification, take a CPSD Review Course or complete the print version with the CPSD Exam Self-Study Workbook. They are available in two different formats to fit your schedule: online or face-to-face seminars.
- Register for your CPSM exam. Exam registrations are valid for one year.
Additional Study Tools
- A CPSM Supplemental Reading List is available for those who want additional study. The list contains a variety of exam-related titles in the broad areas of supply management.
- Join the CPSM LinkedIn Group. This highly interactive group is a forum to ask your peers what they found helpful during their exam preparation. Many group members who have already achieved their designation can share their exam experience.
