EXPIRING A.P.P.S HOLDING A CURRENT C.P.M.
An excerpt from the volunteer newsletter News Line on A.P.P. certification:
…. Candidates have a number of reasons for maintaining both designations. Here are a few of the more common reasons we’ve heard….
Some C.P.M.s carry both the C.P.M. and A.P.P. designations to promote the value of the A.A.P. program. Because the program was established only six years ago, it is not as well known as the C.P.M. program. Others believe maintaining both designations demonstrates a competency in both the tactical/operational side of purchasing (A.P.P.) and the managerial and strategic aspects of purchasing (C.P.M.)
Our hope is that current C.P.M.s will continue to show their support for the A.P.P. program. If you have questions about the A.P.P., please e-mail us at certification@ism.ws or call the ISM Certification Department at 800/888-6276, and speak to Mary Floyd at Ext. 3083.
J. Shipman Gold Medal Award

It is presented each year to an individual who has given a sincere and persistent effort toward the cause and advancement of purchasing and supply management and has assisted and guided other supply management professionals in their endeavors.
If you would like to submit a name for consideration, access the nomination form on the ISM Web Site at www.ism.ws/AboutISM/JshipmanAwrd.cfm. Or, contact Judy Waters at 800/888-6276 Ext. 3034.
