ISM's 94th Annual International Supply Management Conference is May 3-6, 2009. You only have a short time left to register if you haven't already joined the nearly 2,000 Conference registrants. You have until April 10 to receive the lower registration fee.
The ISM Conference Personal Planner allows you to create a Conference schedule tailored to your personal preferences. The Personal Planner lists all of the Conference events by date and time. Use your Personal Planner to organize the events you wish to attend, and even include your own personal appointments on the Planner.
To create your personalized Conference planner, log in to the ISM Web site. From the Home Page (www.ism.ws), select the link to the Charlotte Conference — it links directly to the Conference area on the ISM Web site — then select the link for Your Personal Planner.
To register for the Conference using your Personal Planner, the Register With This Planner button will automatically fill out all of the event information from your planner onto the online registration form.
Note: The special workshop sessions (Project Management, Business Continuity and Services Procurement) will not have the option to add those events to the planner. Those events, if seating is not full, will be available, however, during the registration process.
Once you have added all of your events to your planner, you can print the planner and take it with you to the Conference. Remember: Workshop seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early at your desired workshops.
As you prepare for the Conference, be sure to check out the listing of this year's exhibitors. Currently there are more than 95 participating exhibitors listed. Each listing links to the exhibiting company's Web site so you can research their products or services. Then you can be prepared with a list of exhibitors you wish to visit when you arrive at the Conference, as well as a prepared list of questions for your chosen exhibitors.
Finally, don't forget to check out the ISM Conference Career Center. Be sure to post your résumé now on the Conference Career Center, if you're in the job market, and you may get called for an interview by one of the participating employers.
If you're not in the job market right now, you can still stop by and attend any of the four mini-workshops on Monday and Tuesday of the Conference. The mini-workshop topics include:
Monday, May 4, 2009
Tuesday, May 5, 2009
Be sure to take plenty of business cards for networking purposes. You'll be meeting new people every day of the ISM Conference. Those new people can be important additions to your network!
Make the 2009 ISM Conference work for you. Take advantage of all the opportunities this Conference has to offer by doing a little preparation before actually leaving for the Conference.
