Robert A. Kemp is president of Kemp Enterprises in Des Moines, Iowa. He is a nationally recognized author, lecturer and business consultant. His business career spans nearly four decades. After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army in 1973 with 23 years of service, Kemp earned his doctorate in International Business at Arizona State University. He earned certification as a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) in 1985. In 1997, Kemp was elected NAPM national president. In May 2005, Kemp was awarded ISM's highest honor — the J. Shipman Gold Medal. Dr. Kemp earned his CPSM® with the CPSM® Pilot test group in the spring of 2008.
