Phase 3: The ISM Professional Research and Collaboration Grant

Note: Applications for this grant phase are not being considered in 2013.

Phase Overview:

This program is designed to support associate and new full professors with terminal degrees establish themselves as recognized authorities in the field. It supports those individuals who are teaching in the field to expand a significant research track in supply management and associated areas to new levels of recognition in the field. Faculty selected here will generally have nine (9) to eighteen (18) years of teaching and research experience with recognition for extensive publications, teaching or expertise in academe and corporate world. The program will support competitively selected faculty for one or more years with projects that may have different values as approved in the project plan and award documents. These proposals must include budgets and time lines to justify larger or longer-term commitments. One-year projects will not exceed $15,000 and multi-year projects cannot exceed three years with a maximum value of up to $12,000 per year.

Evaluation Criteria:

1. Teaching and research record
2. Evidence of significant academic leadership
3. Evidence of significant contribution to the profession of supply management
4. Previous involvement with ISM at local or national levels
5. Evidence from the proposal to help ISM over the longer term
6. Willingness to teach and/or speak for ISM as reasonably requested

Application Procedures:

1. Letter of application explaining qualifications for the grant.
2. Research proposal of no more than five pages, including problem statement or hypothesis; research methodology, with data sources, collection and analysis; and value to the field of supply management
3. Curriculum vitae, including works in progress.
4. Must include budgets and timeline justification.
