International Degrees Accepted by ISM

ISM has compiled the following general list by country of degrees that are accepted as equivalent to a bachelor's degree earned in the U.S. from a school accredited by one of the six U.S. accrediting organizations listed with the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). (http://www.chea.org/Directories/regional.asp).

If your degree is not listed, it will need to be evaluated for equivalency. We recommend that you use the services of Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE): http://www.ece.org/. The "General" evaluation is all that ISM requires. The cost of the evaluation is the responsibility of the applicant.

Country	Minimum Degree Requirements
African countries other than French or British pattern	University degree requiring 4 years of study.
Australia	Honors bachelor's degree.
Bangladesh	Four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree following a three-year bachelor's degree. One year of a two-year master's program is not sufficient; students must have completed the master's program.
Belarus	Completion of a five year Dyplom bakalawra, Dyplom spetsyjalista z paglyblennaj padrykhtowkaj, or Dyplom magistra
Brazil	Completion of a four to five year Licenciado, or any Bacharelado or Titulo Profissional degree.
Bulgaria	Completion of a Diploma za Zavrsheno Vissche Obrazovanie
Canada	Quebec-Baccalaureat/Bachelier/Bachelor, 3 years after DEC or B. Eng. 3-3.5 years after DEC Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario-Honors Bachelor's degree, four years Special, Advanced Major representing 4 years of coursework. All other provinces-/Bachelor's degree representing a minimum of 4 years of coursework.
Central America	Completion of all courses and thesis or professional examinations required for the title or degree. 4-5 year degree.
China	A bachelor's degree representing four years of university study.
Estonia	Completion of a Bakalaureusekraad at a university.
France	A Maîtrise or a diploma requiring four years of post-baccalaureate study from a university or a Grande Ecole.
Georgia Republic	Completion of a five year diplomi or a Magistris Diplomi.
Germany	A university Diplom, Magister Artium, or Staatsexamen. The Vordiplom by itself is not sufficient.
Greece	Ptychion.
Haiti	Completion of a Diplôme or a Licence which requires at least four years of university studies or a Maîtrise
Hong kong	Completion of bachelor's degree (3 year Bachelor's Degree) from a college or university.
India	Completion of a four year bachelor's degree or the part one master's degree examinations following a three year bachelor's.
Indonesea	Sarjana or Sarjana Legkap, awarded after five years of university study
Iran	Licence/Licentiate/Bachelor's degree
Israel	Completion of a four-year bachelor's degree or the first year of a master's degree following a three-year bachelor's.
Italy	Diploma di laurea di dottore requiring from four to six years of study.
Japan	Completion of a bachelor's degree (Gakushi Shogo) from a college (Daigaku) or university (Daigakuen).
Krygzstan	Completion of the Diplom Spetsialista (Диплом специалиста) or the Diplom Magistra (Диплом магисра).
Latavia	Completion of a four year Bakalaurs, Diploms, or Magistris from a university
Latin America	Completion of all courses and thesis or professional examinations required for the title or degree. 4-5 year degree.
Lithuania	Completion of at least a four year Aukstesniojo Mokslo Diplomas or Bakalauras (Bakalauro Diplomas).
Mexico	Completion of all courses and thesis or professional examinations required for the title or degree. 4-5 year degree.
Middle East	University degree requiring four years of study.
Moldova	Completion of a five year a Diploma de -- or a Magistru.
Myanmar Burma)	Completion of a four year bachelor's degree or the part one master's degree examinations following a three year bachelor's.
Nepal	Four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree following a three-year bachelor's degree. One year of a two-year master's program is not sufficient; students must have completed the master's program.
Netherlands	Doctorandus, Ingenieur, or Meester.
Other European countries	University degree requiring 4 years of study.
Pakistan	Four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree following a three-year bachelor's degree. One year of a two-year master's program is not sufficient; students must have completed the master's program.
Peru	Completion of a four to five year Bachiller degree, or the Licenciatura.
Philippines	A 5-year bachelor's degree or 4-year bachelor's degree plus one year of graduate work.
Poland	Completion of the Dyplom indicating the Tytul Magister
Portugal	Completion of all courses and thesis or professional examinations required for the title or degree. 4-5 year degree.
Romania	Completion of a Diploma de Licenta or a Diploma de -- requiring at least four years of university study to complete.
Russia & Russian-Style Universities	Diplom from university or institute (5 years normally). Professional Title or Specialist Diploma, 4-5 years. Bakalavr Diploma, 4 years
Saudi Arabia	University degree requiring four years of study.
Scandinavia	University degree requiring four years of study.
Scotland	Completion of a first degree requiring a minimum of four years of study.
Singapore	Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
South Korea	All Bachelor's degrees from nationally-accredited universities
Spain	Completion of all courses and thesis or professional examinations required for the title or degree. 4-5 year degree.
Switzerland	License, Diplôme, or Diplom, representing four to five years of university study.
Taiwan	Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
Thailand	Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university./td>
Turkey	Completion of a Lisans Diplomasi at a university.
Ukraine	Completion of a Diplom spetsialista or a Diplom magistra.
United Kingdom	Honors bachelor's degree.
