Default ISM-2013 Salary Survey (WAGE BY GENDER ?)

I am currently a student in the Supply Chain Management program, and have not really decided yet which area of supply I will focus my efforts on when pursuing my Bachelors. I just wanted to make a comment on the wage by gender disparity. I am still surprised to learn that this industry still has such wide gaps in wage by gender. I think more women need to be aware of this, and I think that we should do a better job raising the awareness.
This should not be an issue in this sentry. If the qualifications are the same for both a man and a woman then by no means should a woman be less on average by some $35,000 or better in most cases according to this new survey, any idea on how to reform this practice?
