Cecil R. House


Cecil R. House is the former senior vice president for the operations support business unit at Southern California Edison. He was also the company's chief procurement officer. House's responsibilities included environmental health and safety, supply management and logistics, corporate security and business resiliency, transportation services including aircraft operations, corporate resources, real properties and environmental and resource sustainability. In his capacity as chief procurement officer, House managed expenditures for materials and services in excess of US$4 billion.

Prior to joining Edison in 2006, House was vice president of customer operations at Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSEG), New Jersey's largest electric and gas utility, where he was in charge of revenue management, customer service, field operations, marketing, demand-side management, account management and energy-acquisition settlement functions. Prior to that, House was vice president of supply chain management at PSEG, responsible for managing US$1.4 billion of nonfuel external expenditures and process ownership of the logistics function.

Prior to joining PSEG, House was vice president of business development at Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP), where he managed strategic planning and business development for the ADP Employer Services Group. Earlier in his career with ADP, he was vice president and assistant general counsel, managing the corporate and mergers and acquisition section of the legal department. Before joining ADP, he was a partner at the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery in New York, where he focused on corporate finance and general corporate law. Earlier, he was an associate in the law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton, focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law.

House is a member of the bar in New York and Virginia. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School and an MBA from Columbia University.

House has served on several not-for-profit boards and supports several community groups.
