TEMPE, Ariz., May 9, 2006 — Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) recently honored the Southwest Forum as Group or Forum of the Year at the 91st Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in Minneapolis on May 9, 2006.
"We are thrilled to have been awarded the ISM Groups and Forums Excellence Award," said Forum Chair Sharon Malkovicz, C.P.M., "I am proud of the consistency and dedication of our leadership to maintain and improve our educational offerings, most apparent in our own Southwest Purchasing Conference."
As found on the Southwest Forum's Web site, www.ismswscf.org, the intent of the forum is to provide supply management professionals with the opportunity to discuss and exchange information on a cooperative basis as well as to assist in the professional development of its members. ISM's Southwest Forum is comprised of members working in the supply management field representing the five states of Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana. The forum's volunteer leaders are dedicated to providing educational value to its membership as well as leading the supply management profession.
The Groups and Forums Excellence Award is an opportunity for ISM to recognize a group or forum that demonstrates excellence in professional operations, educational offerings and recruitment, training and retention efforts, while at the same time communicating the value and prestige of ISM and the supply management profession.
