TEMPE, Ariz., May 9, 2006 — Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) has awarded ISM—Dallas, Inc. the prestigious Affiliate of the Year Award. ISM officially announced and honored the 2005 Affiliate of the Year at ISM's 91st Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in Minneapolis on May 9, 2006.
ISM—Dallas, Inc., as stated in its mission, strives to educate, develop, assist and advance the supply management profession. "Our members make it possible for us to be a leader in supply management," says Affiliate President Mary Ellen Walker, C.P.M. "ISM—Dallas members are our greatest assets."
According to Walker, many members were and are leaders in the community in addition to holding national offices. Walker also adds, "To have a good affiliate, you must receive the support of the members. ISM—Dallas' accomplishments should be attributed to the entire membership."
Affiliate Excellence Awards act as recognition for ISM affiliates that demonstrate excellence in their professional operations, educational offerings and recruitment, training and retention efforts, while at the same time communicating the value and prestige of ISM and the supply management profession.
Each ISM Affiliate, regardless of size, has the opportunity to achieve Affiliate Excellence recognition by meeting each of the core competency requirements. Those selected for Affiliate of the Year have surpassed the designated core competency requirements found on the official nomination form, including but not limited to membership growth, professional development opportunities and valuable affiliate membership meetings.
