Supplier Diversity Group

Our vision is that all ISM members embrace the principles of minority and women's business development and incorporate them into their supply management and sourcing processes.
The mission of the ISM Supplier Diversity Group (ISM SDG) is to educate, motivate and provide leadership to ISM members in support of minority/women's business initiatives.
* Encourage creation of local minority/women business development groups.
* Sponsor at least one educational program per year and conduct a minimum of two workshops at the annual conference.
* Increase membership in the ISM SDG.
* Support the CAPS Research at Arizona State University for the purpose of benchmarking.
* Recognize "best in class" performance of an ISM member in minority/women's business development.

General Information:

The ISM SDG is one of a number of Groups within ISM. Its members share a common interest in diversity; they recognize and value minority-owned and women-owned business development as a sound business practice within purchasing and supply chain management. It is the purpose of the ISM SDG to promote the exchange of ideas and information as well as discussion of ideas and concerns on this subject.
The ISM SDG acts as a resource center for ISM members on minority business and women's business development issues and sponsors seminars and workshops at ISM's Annual International Supply Management Conference. ISM SDG board members are available as speakers for affiliates interested in establishing a minority business development group or committee at the affiliate level. The ISM SDG also publishes a newsletter which is circulated to all ISM members who have indicated an interest in the Group, as well as to all affiliate directors and other group and forum chairs.
