The ISM Logistics and Transportation Group will provide a dedicated track of sessions at this event. On the Conference schedule, please look for Track 5: Optimizing Your Organizations’ Logistics and Transportation Resources. As part of this event, the ISM Logistics and Transportation Group is sponsoring a Pre-Conference Seminar on October 24th: "Inbound Transporation and Logistics: A Primer", presented by Ron Grossman, PCMH, CISCM and George Yarusavage, C.P.M., CTL. The purpose of this tutorial is to give those with little or limited experience in inbound freight transportation and logistics the basic information needed to do their jobs. It provides an overview of the mechanics of the business processes in freight transportation and then goes into detail on specific areas that should be of concern for both new and experienced purchasers. This seminar is designed to take an informed look at transportation and logistics, both in terms of today's supply chain and the inbound logistics management process, so you can know how to make the most of this powerful tool. Inbound Freight & Logistics is designed to give purchasing, procurement, acquisition, contracting, supply management, transportation, logistics, or sourcing personnel, agents, supervisors, managers, directors, and vice-presidents a one-day, “quick hit” course in effective inbound freight and logistics management. It is designed as a primer for those who make inbound transportation decisions and execute logistics strategies within the purchasing or supply management function. The cost for this seminar is $249.00. For more information about the 66th Annual ISM Southwest Supply Management Conference, please go to www.ismswscf.org. |
