Abstract

This presentation introduces Supplier Base Management (SBM) — a systematic dynamic approach for strategically managing the whole supply base (current suppliers, potential suppliers and suppliers monitored for future capacity). SBM also deals with movement between groups). The impact of SBM is illustrated by using case data from a Fortune 100 firm.
