With technology becoming ever more pervasive in our society and a necessary tool in the purchasing and supply chain management profession, how are we using it? We can "hide behind it"… we can "run scared" from it… or we can use it "wisely" to aid us to accomplish the great variety of tasks we must perform daily. We’ll look at some examples of technology that went "horribly wrong" and we’ll analyze some examples of the misapplication of technology. Finally, we’ll discuss how we can remain the "masters" of technology to ensure that it remains our "servant". We’ll learn the one key question to ask when considering any new or modified technology application, that will enable us to know if the technological application under consideration will really work for us or against us.
