Abstract

Innovation has become a hot buzz word in business circles. In Supply Management, accessing innovation from suppliers is touted as the big idea and the goal for leading edge companies, yet traditional cost metrics rather than innovation measures drive most Supply Management organizations. This presentation discusses supplier innovation sourcing in the context of the focus needed to access supplier innovation successfully and over a long period of time, skills necessary to access value and recognize the full range of the innovation process and integration of suppliers at each step of that process.
