Michigan State University is in the process of creating the Hoagland-Metzler Endowed Chair in Purchasing and Supply Management. To date, over $1.25 million has been raised toward a $2 million goal through the generosity of Richard Metzler (a person touched by Hoagland's generosity), ISM, CAPS Research, and many other individuals and companies.
