This update is designed to help you understand some of the benefits and opportunities change can bring. However, please remember the Governance Study Committee is in the middle of the process and has not defined specific recommendations.

    NAPM recently unveiled its new Web site program for affiliates, districts, groups, and forums. This new program will enable you to make updates at your convenience; in addition, you're no longer limited to one page!

    NAPM is seeking conference workshop presentation proposals for its 85th Annual International Purchasing Conference, which will be held April 30-May 3, 2000, at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside.

    This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Certified Purchasing Manager program. To help celebrate, NAPM is encouraging districts and affiliates to include the special anniversary logo in their literature. Guidelines for logo use are available on NAPM's Web site.

    Get on board! That's the phrase that will be on the lips of thousands of NAPM members this year as the 1999 Member-Get-A-Member Campaign gets underway.

    President R. David Nelson, C.P.M., has officially called a meeting of the 1999-2000 NAPM Board of Directors to be held at the Arizona Biltmore Resort Hotel, Phoenix, Arizona. The initial session will be called to order on Friday, August 20, 1999.

    NAPM leadership has suggested that a plaque be available to order to recognize the work of special volunteers and NAPM Affiliate Support has repsonded. We have designed and ordered a limited quantity of 4" x 6" wood plaques. The plaques are engraved with "In Recognition and Appreciation" and the NAPM logo. Personalized engraving will be arranged and paid for by the affiliate. The only cost to you will be the personalized engraving.

    Arizona does not observe daylight savings time. As a result, while most of the United States set their clocks ahead one hour on April 6, Arizona (and NAPM headquarters) remained on Mountain Standard Time, as it does year-round. From April to October, Arizona is concurrent with Pacific Daylight Time. NAPM office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., MST; those in the midwestern and eastern United States are now two to three hours ahead of Arizona.
