On April 28, 2001, NAPM members added a page to the association’s rich history. For the first time in NAPM’s history, all members had the opportunity to make their wishes known through a direct vote on four important issues. These important issues, and the status of each, are outlined below.
The Certificate of Membership template is now posted on the NAPM Web site and available for affiliate use. Simply access the NAPM Web site at www.napm.org and log in to the Members Only area. Select the Affiliate Management Tools link and then click on Download Certificate of Membership Template. You will need to cut and paste the certificate into a new MS Word document. To do so, highlight the certificate text and right click. Select the copy function from the menu that appears. Open a new document in MS Word and paste the certificate into the new document. You may need to do some reformatting to accommodate the fonts available to your system. Feel free to be creative and use the font that works best for your affiliate.
Support your organization’s strategic goals by establishing and nurturing relationships with suppliers that result in a high level of support for needed commodities and services. NAPM’s June 14, 2001, Satellite Seminar takes a close look at market trends and strategies for choosing and evaluating suppliers. The program, entitled "Supplier Relationships: Selection and Development," outlines a supplier development model and addresses issues such as supplier diversity, minority business development, and the future of purchasing partnerships.
C.P.M. and A.P.P. News
Did you know that some colleges and universities award college credit for completion of the C.P.M. and A.P.P. Exams? Last year, both the updated C.P.M. and the new A.P.P. programs were evaluated in hopes that the updated programs would be awarded an improved recommendation. The New York Board of Regents National Program on Noncollegiate Sponsored Instruction (National PONSI) evaluation resulted in a recommendation for college credit for completion of the A.P.P. program for the first time and the college recommendation for the C.P.M. was enhanced. In addition, there is a recommendation that students receive additional credit for experience (provided candidates complete the appropriate project as outlined in the recommendation) for those candidates earning the C.P.M. under the updated program.
