for the volunteer leadership
January 2003, Vol. 15, No. 1
In This Issue
For me, 2003 is a year of both anticipation and celebration, as our certification program approaches the milestone of 40,000 Certified Purchasing Managers awarded since inception. The continued growth of the program is a testament to the broad recognition of the C.P.M. designation and the knowledge that certificants gain and demonstrate by achieving it.
Below is the list of ISM seminars for the months of February and March 2003. For seminar details, please refer to inserts published in Inside Supply Management™; call the ISM Customer Service Department at 800/888-6276 or 480/752-6276, extension 401; or log on to the ISM Web site (www.ism.ws) and select the Seminars and Online Learning link.
If you are looking for a way to earn extra Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) for C.P.M. recertification or A.P.P. reaccreditation, attend ISM Satellite Seminars! Each of these four-hour educational programs features a specific topic pertinent to supply management, and attendees earn 4 CEHs for each program they attend. The programs are broadcast from a television studio on the Arizona State University campus and are transmitted via satellite to approximately 130 sites across the United States Contact your local affiliate for the location and registration details for your area.
C.P.M. and A.P.P. News
ISM's Certification Department offers this friendly reminder regarding its copyright policy. Recently, ISM learned that a few C.P.M. and A.P.P. review course instructors photocopied the paper version of the Diagnostic Kit and provided it to their students. This is a violation of ISM's copyright policy. ISM copyrights all products it publishes, including the paper version of the Diagnostic Kit.
March is Supply Management Month and in celebration, ISM has created a Supply Management Month poster and packet of material to help your affiliate celebrate you, the supply management professional. Posters and packets were mailed out in late November. More extensive information will be included in the February issue of NewsLine, and is also posted on the ISM Web site, www.ism.ws, in the About ISM area. For additional information or for extra copies of materials, contact Kristen Kioa at firstname.lastname@example.org, or at 800/888-6276 or 480/752-6276, extension 3015.
Beginning in February 2003, NewsLine will no longer be sent through the mail. Volunteer leaders will receive each issue in their e-mail inboxes. For more details, visit www.ism.ws/MembersOnly/Newsline/index.cfm.
