  The Institute for Supply Management™ annually honors an outstanding individual in the supply management profession with the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award. Nominations are due January 31, 2007.
  
  
• Affiliate Support
  
  On August 15 and 17, 2006, ISM held its first successful Affiliate Support Web Seminar. The seminar was geared toward July's Leadership Training Workshop attendees so that they could put some of the pieces of information in place and for those individuals that could not attend.
  
  
• Spread the Word — Sharing the Value of Supply Management
  
  About two years ago, ISM embarked on a new initiative to increase awareness of supply management and its impact on business worldwide. Part of that initiative was the development of a national spokesperson program.
  
  
• Certification News
  
  ISM is changing the Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) program. February 28, 2007 is the date by which candidates must postmark their A.P.P. Original & Original Lifetime application. If they postmark their application after February 28, 2007, they will never be able to become an A.P.P.

  Do you want to be a leader, or are you looking for leadership? What qualities do people look for in a leader? The ISM Web site contains numerous articles and presentations on leadership to help you identify leadership qualities, recruit leaders for your affiliate, group or forum and rate your own leadership abilities.
