The Hudson Institute is a private, not-for-profit, research organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana, that specializes in the analysis of policy problems and options for government and private-sector clients. In 1987, the institute published one of the most insightful and noted studies - Workforce 2000: Work and Workers for the 21st Century. One of the issues raised in the Hudson study was the growing diversity in the workplace. By the year 2000, the cumulative impact of the changing ethnic and racial composition of the labor force will be dramatic. Some factors that will have an impact on the workplace are:
Over the past six years, various studies and reports, including the landmark report Workforce 2000 study by the Hudson Institute, have shown that the demographics within the United States are dramatically changing. Some of the information that evolved has opened many individuals' eyes. As the reports have shown, we will see an influx of minorities, women, and immigrants entering the workforce.
