June 18 Webinar: Strategic Sourcing Stimulus Plan — Leveraging Meetings Related Spend for Dramatic Costs Savings

Date: Thurs., June 18, 2009

Time: 12 p.m. EDT / 9 a.m. PDT

Note: This no-cost, streaming-only Web seminar is 60 minutes long.

Applying the principles of strategic sourcing to meetings and travel is often new territory for procurement. Harnessing an organized and collaborative process for leveraging meetings and associated travel spend with select suppliers can dramatically lower costs while more readily achieving broader corporate goals — but how?

This Webinar provides corporate procurement, travel and meetings professionals with guidance regarding strategic sourcing opportunities for meetings and how to successfully take that effort into the supplier marketplace. You'll also get a sneak peak at the latest Strategic Meetings Management research from Aberdeen.

In this one hour event, we will discuss:

  • Garnering percent discounts for guaranteed meetings business;
  • Negotiating rebates for excellent performance;
  • Establishing service-level expectations and ensuring meetings quality;
  • Reducing planning time/resources; and
  • Minimizing risk in your organization.

Featured Speakers:

Bill Browning, Research Analyst, Aberdeen

Browning is responsible for research into complex category management, covering travel and entertainment (T&E), meetings and events management, real estate and facilities, and print management. These are areas of significant corporate spend for which focused processes and technologies have been developed to drive visibility, operational efficiencies and savings.

He also leads supply management research that concentrates on process-related challenges such as contract lifecycle management, procurement outsourcing and supply risk management.

Prior to joining Aberdeen, Browning was a consultant for CGI Spend Management Solutions (formerly Silver Oak Solutions), a leading strategic sourcing and spend management consulting firm.
