|ISM Honors Norbert Ore, C.P.M., with J. Shipman Gold Medal Award
Supply management executive Norbert Ore, C.P.M. has been awarded his profession's highest honor at ISM's 92nd Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit. Ore accepted the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award in Las Vegas in recognition of modest, unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts for the advancement of supply management.
Ore demonstrates a multifaceted approach to supply management and considers supply management to be a profession that successfully cultivates growth and professional development.
"The opportunity to learn, I think, is one of the great things about being a supply manager. If you are in an organization that is constantly evolving, then there is always something new to learn," says Ore. "I am always fascinated to learn about new markets, suppliers and products."

|Supply Organizations Lauded for Contributions to Overall Enterprise Success
Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) today announced winners of its 2nd Annual ISM R. Gene Richter Awards for Leadership and Innovation in Supply Management. Supply departments at three companies were honored in Las Vegas at ISM's 92nd Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit. Awards are announced at an invitation-only dinner and winners present their stories at workshop sessions that are open to all Conference attendees.
Winners were selected from applications received in four categories: Process; Technology; People; and Organization/Structure. The 2007 Richter Corporate Award recipients are:
- Alltel Wireless (Technology Category)
- BP p.l.c. (People Category)
- Johnson & Johnson (Process Category)

Definition: A group of workers doing similar work who voluntarily meet regularly during normal working hours to identify, analyze and implement improvement opportunities.
