Chuck Hatsis

Chuck Hatsis is the president of Surge Consulting, a company that specializes in marketing efficiency. Hatsis is a marketing procurement pioneer who has been leading projects since 1998 for many of the largest advertisers and companies in the world. He is a marketing procurement instructor for the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), has led two ISM satellite seminars, has been quoted in Advertising Age, and was recently recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine as a 2011 Pro to Know.

Prior to leading Surge, Hatsis was a senior manager in Deloitte Consulting's Strategy and Operations practices in the U.S. and Brazil, and held executive positions at ABN AMRO, Nationwid, and Procter & Gamble. He graduated magna cum laude in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received an MBA in marketing and strategy from the Anderson School at UCLA.


Shannon Puhl

Shannon Puhl is a director of strategic sourcing at Nationwide. During her 14 years at Nationwide, she has led sourcing initiatives in multiple disciplines, including corporate real estate, human resources, financial services, and marketing and advertising. Through these efforts, she has helped facilitate millions of dollars in savings and mitigated risk for Nationwide. Over the past several years, Puhl has worked to enhance the partnership with marketing, moving from a transactional focus to one where sourcing is leading agency contract negotiations and agency reviews, and working strategically with leadership.

Puhl graduated with a degree in purchasing and supply chain management from Bowling Green State University and received her MBA from Capital University. She is co-founder of Families for a Cure, a nonprofit focused on cancer research and patient advocacy.
