Of the 575 attendees who participated in our first ThumbTalk Interactive poll Sunday afternoon, 171 or nearly 30% said they are likely to re-shore, compared to 214 or 37% who said they are not likely to re-shore their sourcing over the next year. About 190 or 33% don't know if they will.
"It is very significant that nearly a third of all supply chain professionals in our organization expect to be reshoring more of their purchases back home instead of internationally.", said Tom Derry, CEO of the Institute for Supply Management. "I think the ramifications of global sourcing challenges are beginning to come home to roost."
