Combining Requisitions - cost savings

In my past studies, there was reference to efficiencies in combining requisitions. Is there a free link on the internet that I could reference this information from a professional source? I would like this in order to sell this concept to my purchasing team. There seems to be a history here of just issuing Purchase orders for each Requisition issued and not knowing the cost savings of combining. Any help is appreciated
