Studying for the Exam

I have been studying to take the first of the 3 exams. I took the practice exam and received 350 (not even passing at 400). I am currently going through all of my missed questions and trying to devise a method for studying up on the areas that I am weakest. I have purchased the first exam (to be taken at Pearson Vue) but I am afraid to schedule it since I have not passed the practice exam.

Does anyone have some thoughts on how to study for this in the most effective manner?
