Default Question from a grad student

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a shot. I'm a graduate student with Embry Riddle working on my capstone proposal. My topic is "The Emergence of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM): A Case Study Analysis of Proven Change through Power Principles". I'm basically looking at the issues supply chain managers face when trying to green up their supply chains by either choosing supply chain partners who already ascribe to green logistics practices or by influencing existing partners to make changes to their practices. I'd like to focus on the power aspect and see if large companies with little competition are more successful in implementing GSCM initiatives than smaller companies with more competitors. I figured I'd put this out there to see if anyone can offer suggestions or point me the direction of resources that I may be able to include in my research. Is there a good way to approach supply chain managers on a large scale, i.e. rather that picking random companies and trying to track down supply chain managers?

I'd love to here any ideas.

Suggestion: Try looking for vendors who advertise their "greenness" as a selling point. Use those vendors as a means of locating customers who have solicited green proposals. This will give you identity of specific buyers as well as insight in to the solicitation process - which might reveal their use of apparent power. Green vendors might be enticed in to providing data and helping you in exchange for the publicity and analysis which could help their sales strategies.

I would focus on the manufacturers rather than the vendors themselves. I would assume the success of the implementation of GSCM initiatives can be traced back to the number of purchase orders the green manufacturer receives from the large corporations.
