(Dallas, Texas) — Sandra Selvey, C.P.M., CPIM, from Natick, Massachusetts, was named the Public Relations Committee Person of the Year by the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM) at its 83rd Annual International Purchasing Conference, at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas. This national award recognizes Selvey for her outstanding leadership and contributions in expanding public relations efforts for NAPM.

Selvey is presently Supply Base Manager for Varian Vacuum Products in Lexington, Massachusetts. During her 14 years at Varian, Selvey has converted the purchasing role from a tactical order processing function to a more strategic supplier management role. Selvey is a certified instructor of Value Partnerships and Varian’s corporate-wide quality improvement process. Selvey has more than 25 years experience in progressively responsible purchasing positions. She has been involved with NAPM for a number of years holding various positions in the Purchasing Management Association of Boston affiliate.

The National Association of Purchasing Management is a not-for-profit association that provides national and international leadership in purchasing and supply management research and education. NAPM provides its more than 44,000 members in its 180 affiliated associations with opportunities to expand their professional skills and knowledge.
