(Tempe, AZ) — The National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM) is proud to announce the link between NAPM and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS).

Beginning July 1, 2001, NAPM and CIPS members can access the extensive database of supply management information offered in the "Members Only" section of each Web site with just a click of the mouse. CIPS CEO Ken James states, "This additional member benefit is the first in a range of areas we have identified with NAPM of ways in which the two organizations can work closer together. By combining the member benefit services of both CIPS and NAPM, our members have a wealth of information literally at their fingertips."

For the first time, when logging into www.napm.org, "Members Only" area, NAPM members will be able to access members only content from CIPS, Supply Management magazine, information on technical issues, and discussion forums, as well as additional information relating to the supply management profession. "NAPM is pleased to take this first step not only in broadening the information available to both our members and those of CIPS, but also in demonstrating the universality of the profession," says NAPM CEO Paul Novak, C.P.M.

CIPS members will enjoy direct access to NAPM's "Members Only" section that offers NAPM Resource Guides, discussion forums, the Career Center, bid specifications, the Glossary of Key Supply Management Terms, more than 2,500 articles and conference presentations, and a plethora of additional information and resources.

The National Association of Purchasing Management, Inc. is one of the most respected educational organizations in the United States and is a communication link with more than 47,000 supply management professionals. NAPM is a progressive association with a mission to provide national and international leadership in supply management, particularly in the areas of education, research, and standards of excellence. The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply is an international education and qualification body representing purchasing and supply chain professionals. Its Code of Ethics is the model for the international code and the domestic codes of many countries.
