TEMPE, Ariz., March 7, 2005 — Effective this month, Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) offers direct membership to any uniformed or civilian member of the federal acquisition workforce employed by the Department of Defense, for reduced annual dues of $50.
"Soldiers depend on the professional acquisition of goods and services for their very survival," states ISM Chief Executive Officer Paul Novak, C.P.M., A.P.P. "ISM can support the men and women in harm's way by continuing to be a major player in developing the knowledge and skills of the supply management professionals they depend on."
The new program of discounted dues for federal acquisition professionals also includes a 40 percent discount on prices for public seminars and conferences offered from the national level. ISM also delivers Web-based products, self-study workbooks, books and other media.
The ISM Web site contains a wealth of information and professional resources for those involved in supply management. The Members Only searchable database provides members the opportunity to conduct their own customized search for information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If they prefer, members may request the information from the ISM Resource Center, where staff will then conduct the search. The ISM Web site also provides career assistance, professional tools, and multiple opportunities for networking with other members. Also, by virtue of becoming an ISM member, supply management professionals gain access to the Web site of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom. For additional information, call an ISM Customer Service associate at 800/888-6276 or 480/752-6276, extension 401.
