(Tempe, Ariz.) — The Institute for Supply Management™'s (ISM) 89th Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit, to be held April 25-28, 2004 in Philadelphia, offers keynote speakers with insight and perspectives on key issues.

Dick Conrad, senior vice president, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Global Operations, Supply Chain, will present "Our Future Supply Management Lies in Today's Corporate Consciousness." In this presentation, attendees will learn about Hewlett-Packard's long-standing tradition of treating suppliers and their workers around the world with dignity, respect and safety while having the least impact on our natural resources. Conrad is responsible for procurement and management of materials, services and logistics that support HP's delivery of more than $200 million in value to customers every day.

J.T. Battenberg III, chairman, CEO and president of Delphi Corporation, the world's largest maker of automotive and transportation electronic systems, will speak on "Collaboration, Partnerships and Success." His 40-plus years in the automotive industry include leading the spinoff of Delphi from General Motors Corporation in 1999, and a wide range of domestic and international senior leadership positions with Delphi and General Motors. Battenberg also is chairman of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company's top policymaking group. He serves on the boards of Sara Lee Corporation and Covisint, and is a member of The Business Roundtable, the Business Council and G-100.

Don't miss the compelling keynote address from David K. Foot, professor of economics at the University of Toronto, who will present "It's All in the Demographics." Foot contends that demographics explains two-thirds of everything — whether the subject is business strategy, marketing, human resources, the stock market, housing, education, health, leisure, or social and global trends. With insight into demographics, a business, an individual or a government has a strong foundation upon which to build an understanding of the past and a vision for the future.

Olympic medalist, writer, speaker and athlete Bonnie St. John will share inspirational stories in her keynote address "Winners Get Up Faster." Find out why bad situations can be a gift. Adapting to change fast enough demands not only that we fall down and get up, but that we get good at it. Draw on this session for inspiration whenever you face challenges in your professional or personal life.

St. John's ambition and optimism knows no bounds. Her many accomplishments include an honors degree from Harvard, being chosen as a Rhodes Scholar and winning multiple awards for her innovations as a sales representative for IBM. St. John is a spokesperson for Disabled Sports/USA and is also the author of three practical how-to books.
