January 26, 2011 — Delphi Corporation supply management executive Sidney Johnson, CPSM, was named Board chair at the Annual Meeting of Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM), held January 13, 2011 in Tempe, Arizona. Johnson is vice president, global supply management at Delphi Corporation and executive champion for the Global Supply Management Task Team. Johnson leads a 1,300 person global team of procurement professionals that is focused on direct, indirect and logistics as well as processes and systems, and quality. His vision is to guide and enable his team to unlock the value of Delphi's supply chain. Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in purchasing, operations, quality and lean manufacturing principles.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Johnson earned his bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering and technology from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and received a master's degree in industrial management from Wesleyan University in Indianapolis. He attended the Center for Creative Leadership, Executive Development and was recently named "Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders in America" by Diversity MBA Magazine.
In addition to the ISM Board of Directors, Johnson's professional affiliations include: National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) board of directors; Focus: HOPE advisory board member; and Michigan State University — Supply Chain Management advisory board member.
