ISM Now Accepting Nominations for J. Shipman Gold Medal Award

(TEMPE, Ariz.) August 27, 2009 — Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) is now accepting nominations for the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award. The award is presented annually to an individual whose persistent efforts have aided the advancement of supply management. Those chosen for the award have also assisted and guided members of the supply management profession in their endeavors.

Johnson Shipman was a pioneer member of the New York affiliate of the National Association of Purchasing Agents, well-known for giving liberally of his time and counsel. The award was established in 1931 to commemorate the contributions of Shipman, a man known for his vision, intellect and influence on important issues. The award is presented to those individuals whose modest, unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts have aided the advancement of the supply management field. Those chosen for the award have also assisted and guided members of the supply management profession in their endeavors.

The 2010 J. Shipman Gold Medal Award Winner will be honored at an awards luncheon on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at ISM’s 95th Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in San Diego.
