(Tempe, Ariz.) Sept. 25, 2008 — Six organizations have received Excellence in Innovative Supply Management (EISM) Awards from Institute for Supply Management™'s (ISM) Southwest Forum. The awards were announced today at the 62nd Annual Southwest Supply Management Conference opening session in Plano, Texas.
ISM's Southwest Forum created the EISM award program in 2003 as a tool for organizations to benchmark against the established best-practices criteria. The EISM award recognizes achievement of a standard of excellence. It is based on best practices, innovation and continuous improvement using a point system. Both small and large, and public and private companies can qualify. The 2008 recipients are:
ISM Forums are comprised of members who are employed in a specific sector and come together for the sole purpose of exchanging information and ideas about supply management in that specific sector.
