(Tempe, Ariz.) May 8, 2007 — Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) has awarded NAPM—Western Washington, Inc. the prestigious Affiliate of the Year Award. ISM officially announced and honored the 2006 Affiliate of the Year at the 92nd Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in Las Vegas.
"This honor is something that all of our members can celebrate," said Affiliate President Gerard Fernandez, C.P.M. "NAPM—Western Washington serves a variety of supply management professionals who seek top-notch professional growth opportunities. This award showcases that we are serving a diverse and dynamic group with the added credibility of demonstrating excellence in our operations."
Affiliate Excellence Awards recognize ISM affiliates that demonstrate an awareness and distinction in their professional operations, educational offerings, ability to recruit, train and retain members, while at the same time communicating the value and prestige of ISM and the supply management profession.
Each ISM Affiliate, regardless of size, has the opportunity to achieve Affiliate Excellence recognition by meeting each of the core competency requirements. Those selected for the Affiliate of the Year have surpassed the designated core competency requirements found on the official nomination form, including but not limited to membership growth, professional development opportunities and valuable affiliate membership meetings.
